The different uses of Lanyards in Business
The lanyard is a strip of material, usually bearing the name or logo of a various organisation, typically worn around the neck used to keep an item handy without forcing you to hold it. It is common to see these around the necks of people in many different job fields including; education, athletics, customer service, and high-security positions.

Printed lanyards typically bear a logo or a phrase used as an inexpensive yet highly effective marketing tool. Colleges buy them in bulk with their school mascot, team name, or school logo and pass them out to prospective students. Business owners tend to keep lanyards on hand to give away to clients as well as having their workers wear them to enhance a uniform.

Other than being great for advertising, lanyards are most often used in a way specifically designed to make your life easier. It is common for high school and college students to wear a lanyard with their keys on it in light of many schools banning the use of purses and backpacks to promote safety. Businesses more often than not have their workers wear a lanyard with their name tags, store keys, and time cards attached to them.

Once you have decided how often and to what demographic you will market your lanyard, it becomes a simple matter of design appeal. By deciding on the target group colour choices and print designs become much easier. An older clientele is less likely to use "busy" lanyards but bright colouring makes them easier to find for the visually impaired. The younger consumers tend more towards loud, decorative printed lanyards.

Once the lanyard has been designed and printed make sure they are made as useful as possible. Choose the best materials and form to compliment the lanyards purpose. If the lanyards are designed for students, a key ring on the end would be the best choice. When using a lanyard to hold ID cards or badges use a badge clip as it is much easier for keeping items organized. The other common choice for lanyard hooks are the swivel hook and while a key chain could be attached to this it is usually only used when the items that will hang from the lanyard are predetermined such as a referees whistle.

Whatever the organisation, a lanyard can be useful for many needs. By keeping track of keys, ID cards, badges, time cards, and various other items a lanyard can be indispensable. By making life easier, lanyards with printed logos and words on them will be a great marketing tool for many years to come.
